Considerations for the Quality of Image Rendering

Tips and best practices for ensuring high image quality in CampaignDrive.

There are several things to keep in mind when preparing images.

  • If an image is copied out of  InDesign at a lower resolution than 300 Effective PPI, saving it at 300 PPI in Photoshop will not improve the quality of the image. Ensure you are starting with an image with at least 300 effective PPI.
  • Saving a PNG or JPEG image with a PDF output does not turn it into a vector object; it just turns it into a format that PDF can use in the final document.
  • When creating a dynamically sized material, it's a best practice to start with an image at least 400 DPI or higher since the image might have to scale 150% of the library size.
  • If you want to allow end users to populate an image regardless of quality in a print template, uncheck the "Enforce Print Quality" checkbox in the image layer editor.
  • The standard for image size and quality is determine by the initial image uploaded into an image layer. If the initial image uploaded to a layer is 300 DPI, then a user will not be allowed to upload an image less than 300 DPI.
