Before any templates are added to CampaignDrive there are some preparation steps to follow to ensure that installation goes smoothly.
Check Fonts and Colors
Before adding new templates to the system, check to make sure that all fonts and colors used in the templates have been added to your system. New fonts must be installed by a Pica9 developer, so reach out to the Customer Success Manager to handle any new font installations. New colors may be added by system Administrators from within the Admin area.
Prepare Graphics and Images
There are certain standards that need to be met when creating images for use specifically within templates in CampaignDrive. Once the graphics have been prepared according to these standards, they should be uploaded into the Media Library or linked within an InDesign file prior to IDML import. Before uploading assets, determine whether or not they will be stored in an existing Asset Category or if a new category needs to be created.
Determine Layout Template Type
There are two different types of layout-based templates available to Admin users. The first is print-based. This will produce a template based in inches (or millimeters) for use in print-based workflows. The second is digital-based. This will produce a template based in pixels for use in on-line avenues such as social media, online ads, screen displays or digital advertising.
Determine Installation Strategy
Layout-based templates may be installed one of two basic ways:
- Manually installed as either a Master Template or directly into a Campaign
- Imported via IDML Import ZIP file (print layout templates only) as a Master Template
