This answer depends on template type and complexity, and may come down to the template installers preference/skillset.
- Does this template follow a layout I’ve installed before? Clone
- Does this layout have a lot of text styling? IDML Import
- Is this layout in a program other than InDesign? Manual Install
- Is it going to take me longer to set the template up for IDML import than it will to install it manually? Template Installer’s Choice
