Overview of the End User Experience for Item Section Styles
For an Item Section Style, the End User experience takes place within the Studio Compose environment. When the template opens, the section style is empty:
Clicking on the layer link on the left OR on the text box on the template will open up the editing drawer:
There are 71 items available for selection. The End User can populate 6-7 items, or 20 items.
Click on the item to select the item for the template. In the example below, six drinks have been chosen for the flyer:
Click the Next button to proceed to the next screen.
From this screen, the End User can:
- Reorder by dragging the items
- Edited by clicking on the item
- Preview by clicking the Preview button
When all the edits have been made, click Apply to apply the selections to the template:
Notice that there are now more rows on the left hand side of the template. This is because the section style template has become part of the main template and now the rows in the section style template are visible. Now that these layers are visible, they may be edited just like a normal layer. This screenshot shows the first photo open for selection with a content group applied:
To change the layout, click on the original layer that is linked to the content item section style and this will re-open the editor.
Note: Selecting a different number of items will select a new section style template and delete any content that was entered previously.
Using Filters
Filters are fields added to the Content Category and are available when creating the section style experience
Clicking the Open Filters link in the content item drawer on the front end will open a form to enable filtering (if filters have been applied on the back end). This content set has a filter for category of item. Filtering for drinks reduces the number of selectable items from 71 to 21.
