Many file-type extensions can be uploaded to the CampaignDrive DAM for storage and download purposes. Certain file types and extensions can be used within template composition.
Asset Types and Asset Type Extensions
CampaignDrive offers two asset types: "Images" and "Files," each with its own default set of specific file extensions. "Images" asset types include extensions for image-type files. Some, but not all, image asset types can be used within templates. "Files" asset types are everything else, such as documents, presentations, native design files, and video files, to name a few. "Files" asset types cannot be used in template composition, but they can be added to Campaigns as downloadable assets.
Images
When it comes to images, CampaignDrive has most of the basic image formats by default. Here's the list of default file extensions for images:
- jpg
- jpeg
- bmp
- gif
- png
- tif
- tiff
- eps
Files
CampaignDrive's "Files" category is designed to handle various document types. Here's the list of default file extensions for files:
- doc
- docx
- ppt
- pptx
- rtf
- txt
- csv
- xls
- xlsx
- zip
- idml
- indd
- ai
This list covers most of the common file types you might encounter during your CampaignDrive journey. If an extension does not appear in the default list, it can be added as either an "Images" or "Files" extension, depending on what it is.
Adding Asset Extensions
It is simple to add an extension to either of the asset types. Simply click the "Manage" link next to the type of extension this will be, either "Images" or Files" and then click the "Add an Asset Type Extension" button at the top right of the screen.
File Types for Template Composition
If you're a template composer, you'll want to be aware that the file types you can use in your templates are limited to "Images" file-types and the following asset type extensions: PDF, JPG/ JPEG, PNG, and AI. All extensions with the exception of AI can be uploaded as user images. AI file extensions must first be uploaded to the DAM and then applied to templates. This limitation ensures that templates maintain a consistent and professional appearance.
File Types for User Upload
For end users, the file upload options are straightforward. You can upload PDF, JPG/JPEG, TIF, and PNG files. These formats cover most needs of everyday users, making the process easy and hassle-free.
